The Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project sent an advocacy letter to the DOC regarding the mental health care for a sexual assault survivor at SCI Muncy. This letter is on behalf of a woman with an extensive history of suicide attempts and self-harm. She has experienced horrific abuse while incarcerated that repeatedly retraumatizes her rather than receiving actual mental health care. PILP is urging medical staff to take this matter seriously to prevent this individual from committing even more serious self-harm or potentially taking her own life.
