The Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project, along with All Rise Trial & Appellate, sent a letter to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and officials at Federal Correctional Institution Loretto (FCI Loretto) following a reported “severe outbreak” of COVID-19 at the facility. The letter asks that immediate steps be taken to protect the population at FCI Loretto that have not tested positive for COVID-19, mitigate against the possibility of re-infection, and that officials do everything in their power to assist those people with COVID-19 in obtaining medical care, including making plans for the potential need for hospital care in a timely and efficient manner.
