Lawyers for the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project sent an advocacy letter to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) on behalf of James Savage, a legally blind man incarcerated at State Correctional Institution (“SCI”) Phoenix. Mr. Savage’s medical records raise serious concerns regarding his lack of appropriate disability accommodations. PILP is asking that prison officials take immediate action to provide accommodations to Mr. Savage to avoid violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”).
